MN Winter Wedding Photography | Lauren & Jason

LAuren and JAson's Downtown Minneapolis Wedding-14.jpg

Lauren and Jason’s wedding day was absolutely freezing. I still don’t know how they managed to brave the snow on their bare arms on the Stone Arch Bridge, but it was worth it for the photos! Lauren looked absolutely stunning in her dress, and even more so against the bright blue backdrop of the Minnesota sky. Luckily their morning wasn’t quite as cold, finding solace in the Bloomington Sheraton for their first look and some fun indoor photos.

These two had one of the most beautiful, heartfelt ceremonies I have ever seen. Lauren and Jason have an incredible energy as a pair, and you can tell that their love is mature, stable, and lasting. They have an incredible foundation to build a marriage and a family on.

Since their wedding day, we’ve had the pleasure of photographing weddings for her sisters Allie and Stephanie, as well as a destination wedding for their mother Penny!

Winter Wonderland MN Wedding Photography | Denise & Lyman

I don’t do too many weddings in the dead of winter in Minnesota. Probably because most people aren’t brave enough to risk a slippery, snowy wedding day. Denise and Lyman planned their wedding during the coldest month in Minnesota, and I applaud them for that. Their winter MN wedding photography turned out unique and special because of it. I love when a bride and groom willingly walk out in the snow for photos dressed only in their wedding apparel, with no jackets! Yes, it’s a bit chilly, but the pictures turn out to be fantastic. I had a wonderful time shooting Denise and Lyman’s Minnesota winter wedding photography, and now I’m more than ready to head out to Maui for the winter as planned. See you in May, Minnesota!

Barbara and John’s Milwaukee Wedding Photos

For Barbara and John’s winter wedding, I got to fly my plane from Minneapolis to Milwaukee on a beautiful January day, where I saw some great parts of the city!  We started the day with photos of the bridal party having fun together as they got styled and ready at Glow Salon & Spa.  Then, we spent time in the cold, where I got some great shots of the happy couple outside the Milwaukee Art Museum.  The architecture of the museum was amazing and certainly made for an impressive backdrop!

The wedding ceremony and reception were held at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center, an elegant building that was constructed in the late 1920’s.  This place had some great vintage detailing and the spiraling staircases allowed for some really captivating shots of the newlyweds.

My plane, my camera and I were happy to have made the trip to Milwaukee to be a part of Barbara and John’s wedding day!

Wedding Photos at the St. Paul Cathedral – Kristen & Dustin

If you’ve ever thought about getting married at the St. Paul Cathedral, I can tell you, it’s quite the experience.  With it’s towering stone walls, ornate domed ceilings, stupidly tall wood-carved doors, and seating room for 3,000, the cathedral – one of Minnesota’s oldest – sets an impressive tone for any event.  Kristen and Dustin chose to have their wedding ceremony in the main chapel, beneath natural light filtering in through the cathedral’s ancient skylights.  The couple went the traditional route, and didn’t see each other before the ceremony.  Being that it’s the middle of winter, this meant that all the bride and groom photos were taken after dark.  We got some wonderful shots on a starlit skating rink, and some with a backdrop of Christmas light littered trees.  The whole experience made for some fun and unique wedding photographs in St. Paul!

MN Countryside Wedding Photography – Tiffany & Andy

I had the joy of photographing Tiffany and Andy’s engagement photos this past summer in their hometown of Hastings, Minnesota.  (You may remember the AMAZING sunset over the field of young wheat.)  They decided to host their wedding ceremony and reception in Hastings as well, and I was happy to shoot some more photographs in that gorgeous rural area of Minnesota.  This time, however, it would be winter.  Tiffany and Andy were fun to work with in the chilly weather.  They let me drag them outside along with their whole wedding party to get some beautifully sunny MN winter wedding photographs.  After their ceremony at St Joseph’s Church, Tiffany and Andy had an incredibly beautiful reception filled with unique, classy and festive Christmas inspired details at the Little Log House Village Hall in Pioneer Village.  I loved these locations, and oh, wow… the details! (Nice work, Tiff!)
