Brooke and Aaron are Duluth natives, and I am convinced they live in the most beautiful place in the whole city, right past the Lift Bridge in Canal Park. We started our photo shoot there, on the sand dunes by Park Point. At this specific spot, it’s hard to tell whether you’re on the shore of a lake or an ocean. Even a glance at the pictures and you can tell how absolutely stunning it was. The water and beach alone was beautiful, but on top of that, the sky was one of the coolest I have seen photographically in a long time. The combination of those natural elements with a beautiful couple AND an adorable dog, was almost unbelievable. We captured really exceptional photos and a really fun evening shooting together.

But that wouldn’t have happened with just any beautiful couple or any cute dog. It happened because Brooke and Aaron are really wonderful people, and really wonderful together. They are so easygoing, so comfortable around each other, and just so in love. Brooke and Aaron, you two and your sweet dog made my job easy. Congratulations again, I absolutely cannot wait to continue capturing memories for you on your wedding day and to watch you to continue to build a wonderful life together!

I randomly met Jaime and Brent a couple of years ago in Duluth. We first starting chatting at a Co-Op I’m pretty sure, it came up that I was a photographer, and we became Facebook friends. Today, I’m the lucky photographer that gets to document this special time in their lives. I love when simple, accidental connections turn into important ones.

I also feel really lucky to have been able to shoot this awesome couple here in Duluth, the city that they love and know so well. Jaime and Brent try to spend as much time outdoors as they can, and are always adventuring to a new cool place along the North Shore. Their knowledge of the area gave me access to all the best spots. And their love for the natural beauty that was constantly surrounding us, made it so fun and easy for me to photograph them.

Everything about shooting Jaime and Brent was fun and easy. The scenery was beautiful, they are beautiful, and they just obviously love each other in a really beautiful way. The couple has yet to decide what their wedding plans will be, but they have definitely decided on each other – and that’s all that really matters. Jaime and Brent, congratulations! You guys are awesome and your love is really special. Thanks for letting me be a part of it!

Shooting Brenna and Derek’s engagement photos was seriously so fun. I essentially just tagged along with them during a regular day in their life together. They love going out on the lake. So we took their boat out on lake Minnetonka to enjoy one of the last nice days of boating season and some their favorite Excelsior brews. We even stopped at a little island to capture some shots in the gorgeous wooded area. It was really special to experience a taste of their reality together, in a truly authentic way. These two are so in love in such a refreshingly unforced way. It’s obvious that they just genuinely enjoy being around each other, and that made me want to be around them, too. If you’re ever looking for a good couple to third-wheel, I absolutely recommend Brenna and Derek 🙂

In all honesty, Brenna and Derek, what you have together is so natural and so special, thank you for letting me be a part of it. I cannot wait to continue celebrating with you two at your wedding!

The corner of Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue is where Julianne and Nick first ran into each other. And I mean that literally – they physically bumped into each other in that crosswalk. What was once considered an accident, we now understand as a moment of fate. As that accident was the first time these two had laid eyes on each other and the start of this beautiful relationship, that they will continue to pursue for the rest of their lives.

It was so special to return to this corner, with the now engaged couple, and relive the moment when they first met. To stand in that spot and remember a time when they were unaware of the impact they would make on each other’s lives, while simultaneously daydreaming about the future they will create together, was powerful. The entirety of the shoot felt like a mini documentary of the progression of Julianne and Nick’s relationship. Starting on the corner of Lake and Hennepin, but continuing to explore and grow throughout the rest of city. And this is only the beginning. Congratulations Julianne and Nick! I love your story, I love your love, and I can’t wait to continue documenting it on your wedding day.

I shot Heidi and Tony’s engagement session at the forever-breathtaking Minnehaha Falls. The falls were gorgeous as always and the park was definitely showing off too, with fall leaves and colors in full swing. There were a lot of things that made this shoot awesome, even beyond the sheer beauty of the falls. The most obvious being Heidi and Tony themselves. These two love each other, in the most obvious and down-to-earth way. I just loved the progression of their session. Starting in more formal clothes, moving on to cozy sweaters, and finishing the day off repping their Wild jerseys. It was all so effortless and so them. I loved this because I was able to capture the essence of who they are as couple – which is far more beautiful than a waterfall or autumn leaves. Heidi and Tony, you stole the show! Congratulations again, it was a joy documenting this exciting time of your lives.
