Minnesota Maternity Pictures | Sarah & Ryan

I shot Sarah and Ryan’s wedding three years ago on a beautiful day in September.  And this year I was honored to be asked to take their maternity photographs as they await their new bouncing baby boy.  We started our photo shoot at the Crow-Hassan Park Reserve in St. Michael, MN.  Sarah and I chatted about health and diet and she excitedly told me about her love of leafy greens and her plans for a natural childbirth.  She looked absolutely gorgeous and healthy, and Ryan held his bride sweetly with a look of admiration on his face as they strolled through the woods near their home.  After paying homage to their wedding photographs by taking some shots inside an old, beat up barn, the sun began to set, and we decided to continue the maternity photo shoot inside to get some “lifestyle” photos.  We took pictures of Sarah, Ryan, and Sarah’s belly in the living room, bedroom, remodeled attic and in baby’s new nursery.  We even ended up turning the last bit into a sort of maternity boudoir session and got some astonishing photographs!  I love life stories, and I love being a part of my clients’ continuing stories – love, engagement, marriage, new home, baby in the belly and in the baby carriage, growing families, graduations, parties, anniversaries, vow renewal, the whole shebang!  It is a blessing to be able to use photography to help tell these amazing stories of life.

Maui Engagement Photographs | Nick & Kelli

Kelli and Nick chose to have their pre-wedding engagement photo shoot at the Ulupalakua Winery, just past the little town of Keokea, HI on the island of Maui.  This location offered green backdrops as well as a superb view of the sunset over the Pacific Ocean.  The Maui locals are getting married in April, and I am so blessed to be able to stay here long enough to shoot their wedding.  I know it’s going to be beautiful!

Kjerstin & Matthew’s MN Winter Wedding Photographs | Part 2

I couldn’t be happier with the way Kjerstin and Matt’s snowy Minnesota wedding photographs turned out.  It snowed in the perfect way, on the perfect day this year – just in time for us to capture some incredible photographs of Kjerstin  & Matt on their wedding day.  Falling snow is so fun to work with, and this happy couple was willing to brave the cold and step outside with me for some amazing bride and groom wedding photographs.  We walked around outside their ceremony site on the campus of Northwestern College in Roseville, Minnesota.  Interestingly,  Kjerstin and Matt’s wedding reception was to be the first time the college had ever allowed a dance on their campus, so Kjerstin and Matt lucked out in all sorts of ways on their wedding day!

MN Winter Wedding Photography | Kjerstin & Matthew

Minnesota had ONE day of snow this winter before Liz and I left for Hawaii in the middle of January.  And on that one day happened to fall Kjerstin and Matthew’s wedding.  Some people might call this irony, but I call it an AMAZING WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY OPPORTUNITY!  These wedding photographs are definitely one-of-a-kind now.  The falling snow added a new dimension and a touch of magnificence to each photograph.  Kjerstin and Matt braved the cold and went outside with me to play in the fresh snow that lightly blanketed a frozen lake near their wedding ceremony site.  The huge snowflakes look almost like fake movie set snow in these photographs… It was almost too perfect.
