MN Wedding Photography goes to Idaho | Kari & Tyler

Kari and Tyler’s Idaho mountain wedding was absolutely beautiful.  The couple planned to have their wedding ceremony on a small open plain with a striking mountain view.  On the morning of the wedding, it was pouring.  Since the sudden rain hadn’t been in the forecast, Kari and Tyler hadn’t planned for it.  They asked me what I thought they should do.  I told them to call Kari’s mother, who was still shopping for last-minute items in Boise, and to instruct her to buy every single umbrella she could find at the local Target.  She did, and Kari and Tyler gave the umbrellas to their guests as wedding favors.  The ceremony took place outside on the plain as planned, and each of the guests had his own umbrella, making for a fun and unique wedding ceremony and fantastic wedding photos! Enjoy these mountain wedding photographs!

Brovado Wedding Photography in Idaho | Kari & Tyler’s Wedding Rehearsal

My trip out to Idaho this summer to photograph Kari and Tyler’s wedding was one of the best photography trips I’ve taken.  It was the middle point of a round about flight that began in my hometown of Minneapolis, went on to a stop in North Dakota where I shot Valerie and Bill’s trash the dress session, then over to Idaho for Kari and Tyler’s wedding events, then to Denver, Colorado and finally back home to Minnesota.  I brought my new video crew with me so we could film all of the events to which we were flying and get started on our new line of wedding videography.  Here are some photos from Kari and Tyler’s wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner in Fairfield, Idaho.  You can see more on BROVADO’s Facebook page.  Oh!  And we made our first professional wedding video at Kari and Tyler’s rehearsal and wedding!

Trash The Dress Photography | Valerie & Bill

There’s a fun story behind this North Dakota “Trash the Dress” photo shoot.  My photography crew and I were gearing up to photograph a beautiful mountain wedding in Fairfield, Idaho.  We were taking my Centurion, a fast flying six-seater airplane  that would get us there in a fraction of the time it would take to drive.  I mapped out our route and when I was looking at flying through the Dakotas, I thought I’d give some of my past wedding clients, Valerie and Bill, a call since they lived in Bismark, ND.  There’s somewhat of a back story here…  A couple weeks earlier, Valerie had posted a photo on my facebook wall of the woods in North Dakota where we had shot the majority of her bride and groom photos on her wedding day.  In the photo, those very same woods were now under 6 feet of water due to the recent flooding in Bismark!  So I had an idea.  When Valerie answered my call, I asked her if she and Bill would be interested in doing a Trash the Dress photo shoot in the flooded woods.  It was, after all, right around their one year anniversary mark.  How perfect would it be to trash her wedding dress, on her anniversary, in the same woods in which we took her wedding photos?  She talked it over with Bill and called me back.  They thought it was a great idea!  So I scheduled a stop in Bismark on our way out to Idaho.

This Trash the Dress session was fun on so many levels.  The weather was warm and perfect.  Valerie and Bill had a blast.  The local news station even came out to document what we were doing, and made a little inspirational piece to air on the Bismark evening news that talked about Val and Bill’s idea to make something good and beautiful come of the flood waters that had been so devastating to that part of town.

What’s more, my crew and I got to practice our video skills, and we made our first promotional video for Brovado Weddings in preparation for launching a new branch of the company – wedding videography services, in addition to our wedding photography.  Enjoy Valerie and Bill’s Trash the Dress photos below, and stay tuned for more wedding videos from Brovado Weddings
